Goeschl Professor of Environmental Economics in the Department of Economics (Alfred Weber-Institute) at Heidelberg University.

Timo Goeschl (PhD, Economics, University of Cambridge) is Professor of Economics and Director of the Research Center for Environmental Economics at Heidelberg University. Timo is a research associate of the Leibniz Center for European Economic Research in Mannheim, co-editor of Environmental and Resource Economics and has published widely on topical issues in environmental and resource economics, from green innovation to behavioral environmental policy. His theoretical, experimental and empirical work has appeared in the Journal of the European Economic Association, the European Economic Review, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, and other outlets. Timo was educated at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Innsbruck. Before coming to Heidelberg, Timo was Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University Lecturer at the University of Cambridge, and a Research Fellow at University College London.

Maria Loureiro is Professor of Economics at USC since 2017. Her fields of research are energy economics, environmental economics, and agricultural economics. She got her PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from Washington State University (USA) and held positions at Colorado State University (USA), U. Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), and the Norwegian Agricultural Economics Research Institute (now Norwegian Institute for Bioeconomic Research-NIBIO). She participated in 9 competitive grants as PI, from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology, Regional Government of Galicia, and Ramón Areces Foundation. A relevant ongoing research project she has is “Economics of climate change: vulnerability and adaptation and mitigation policies in Spain” funded by State Research Agency (2020-2024). She also participates in the Spanish Network of Experimental Economics, funded by State Research Agency (2017-2020).

Professor Carlo Carraro is President (Rector) Emeritus and Professor of Environmental Economics at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University. He was President of the University of Venice from 2009 to 2014. Previously, he was Director of the Department of Economics from 2006 to 2008 and Vice-Provost for Research Management and Policy from 2001 to 2005. He was the President of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) for the biennium 2018-2019 and member of the Council from 2016 to 2021. He was the Scientific Director of Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM). Since 2008, he is Vice-Chair of the Working Group III and Member of the Bureau of the Nobel Laureate Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He has been working as IPCC Lead Author since 1995. Professor Carraro is a Fellow of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE) and Chair of the Executive Board of the European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE). He is also a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of the Euro Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC) and Director of the PhD Program in Science and Management of Climate Change, a joint program of the University of Venice, CMCC and OGS.
