CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

 

The Italian Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (IAERE) is launching a PhD workshop series aiming at providing PhD students the opportunity of receiving feedback and advice from IAERE senior members on environmental and resource economics issues.

The 1st IAERE PhD Workshop is organized in cooperation with the University of Bologna.
It will take place at the University of Bologna premises in Rimini, on October 26th-27th, 2017.

Objectives
The aim of the PhD workshop is twofold.
First, it intends to provide support to PhD students in their thesis work.
Second, it intends to provide a platform for exchange of PhD students and mentors’ experiences.

Structure
Two modules are scheduled:
• Day 1, 26 October: 15:00-19:00 Module 1
• Day 2, 27 October: 9:00-13:00 Module 2
Each student will give a 40-minute presentation followed by a 20-minute discussion.
A social dinner will be organized on Day 1.

Target
PhD Students on environmental economics topics from any university or research institute.

 

Number of students
The minimum number of students for the activation of the program is 6. The maximum number of students is 8.

 

Participation Fees
• IAERE Members EUR 130
• Non IAERE Members EUR 150 (This fee includes a 2017 IAERE membership).
Accommodation and meals are not included. Information on budget accommodation and restaurants will be provided.
Successful candidates will receive information about modes of payment once admitted to the PhD workshop.

 

How to apply
Applicants are kindly requested to fill in the application form.
During the application phase, candidates are asked to submit a (maximum) 14-page document (text or slides) with the following headings “Introduction / Research Questions / Literature review / Methodology / Proposed methodology / Findings / Anticipated Findings”.

 

Application deadline is August 25th, 2017 (midnight CET).
Acceptance notifications will be sent out by September 1st, 2017.
